本研究研究鐵鋁複合金屬的氧化機制及能力並應用於染整廢水處理,鐵鋁複合金屬是一種具氧化還原能力的複合金屬,其結構為鐵金屬附著於鋁金屬的表面,由鋁金屬做為電子供應者,鐵主要扮演著氧化劑之角色。在理論方面,利用甲醇(初始濃度為31.64 mg/L)及甲酸做為探針式化合物探討零價金屬的氧化能力,並以甲醛生成量2.01 mg/L,轉化率為6.35%,確認零價金屬的氧化能力。同時測定到過氧化氫25 mg/L及亞鐵離子50 mg/L 的生成,確認其氧化的反應機制。最後利用電子順磁共振光譜儀去量測鐵鋁複合金屬的自由基產生,得知鐵鋁複合金屬可產生二種自由基,在儀器測定下,分別是氫氧自由基與甲基自由基,且都能維持長效性的自由基產生。染整廢水包括各式各樣的染料和助劑對環境有極大的危害,Fenton 技術是目前被廣泛研究與應用於去除染整廢水,然而整體的成本昂貴,且會造成大量含鐵污泥產生,增加整體成本以及處理不當的二次污染。因此一種可自行產生過氧化氫的固態材料-鐵鋁複合金屬,將有效的透過Fenton 程序去氧化降解染整廢水。鐵鋁複合金屬是一種具有長效能及低成本的廢水處理之材料,透過亞鐵離子循環以及過氧化氫釋出,減低污泥產生量。而在實場應用方面測試了不同染料廢水(分散性、反應性、酸性及鹽基性),在COD 與真色色度氧化降解皆有60-98%去除率。最後將利用廢棄鋁渣去配製鐵鋁複合金屬,並利用管柱試驗了解其應用實場之可行性。 This study investigated the oxidizing ability of bimetallic iron-aluminum (Fe/Al) and its application for the dye wastewater treatment. A dual functionality of Fe/Al bimetals for redox reactions has been discovered. A zero-valent Fe/Al bimetal is synthesized by depositing zero-valent iron onto the surface of zero-valent aluminum. Aluminum serves as an electron donor. The oxidative ability was investigated using methanol and formic acid as probes. Formaldehyde (transformation rate = 6.35%) was detected as an intermediate when methanol was oxidized by Fe/Al bimetals. However, completely mineralization of methanol can not be achieved by Fe/Al bimetals according to the TOC analysis. The Fe/Al bimetal can gradually and constantly release hydrogen peroxide and ferrous ion at the concentration about 25 and 50 mg/L, respectively. We demonstrate that the Fe/Al bimetals can produce oxidizing species such as the hydroxyl radical (OH‧) and the methyl radical (CH3‧) through the metal-driven Fenton reaction. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) employing spin trapping techniques with 5,5-dimethylpyrroline N-oxide (DMPO) is used to confirm the generation of radicals. Textile wastewater includes a wide array of dyes and dyeing assistants causing the environmental challenge for textile industry. The Fenton reaction, a green chemical process, has been known as a homogeneous process for dye wastewater treatments. However, the overall cost and associated problems of secondary sludge generation limit its application. We present here a solid-phase hydrogen peroxide generator, zero-valent Fe/Al bimetal, for an effective mineralization of dye wastewater through the Fenton reaction. The release of hydrogen peroxide and the cycle of ferrous ion minimizes the sludge production and makes the Fe/Al bimetal a long-lasting material for dye wastewater treatments. We have tested a large variety of dye wastewater containing acid, basic, reactive and disperse dyes in reaction with Fe/Al bimetal. The COD and ADMI removal efficiency was in a range of 60-98%.
