Alzheimer is a neurodegenerative disease that worsens over time. It is a form of dementia that starts slowly but ultimately leads to behavioral issues, disorientation, mood swings, problems with language and loss of motivation. Old age, genetic problems, inadequate synthesis of neurotransmitter acetylcholine, extracellular amyloid beta deposits are considered as common causes of this disease. Diagnostic techniques that are used frequently include mini-mental state examination, blood tests, magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography. The causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and management technique related to alzheimer's disease have been thoroughly discussed in this book. The topics covered herein will offer new insights in this area of study. This book aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects related to this disease and the recent researches in this field. It attempts to assist those with a goal of delving into the research of alzheimer's disease.
