Journalism across boundaries
the promises and challenges of transnational and transborder journalism /[electronic resource] :Kevin Grieves. - New York :Palgrave Macmillan,2012. - 1 online resource.
Introduction: News Doesn't Stop at the Border -- 1. Transnational Journalism in Europe b6 s A Transnational Journalistic Culture? -- 2. Conflict and Commonality: The Evolution of Regional Transborder Journalism -- 3. Crossing Boundaries of Established Journalistic Routines -- 4. Regional Transborder Journalistic Content and the Mainstream-Niche Tension -- 5. Journalists and the Mediated Construction of Transborder Regions -- 6. 'We Meet and We Decide Together' b6 s Transborder Journalistic Collaboration -- Conclusion: What do Boundaries Mean To Journalism? --.
Journalistic activity crosses national borders in creative and sometimes unexpected ways. Individual journalists largely plot their own course, since transnational and transborder journalism offers few established guideposts. This type of reporting is in a unique position to address the public discourses on European and global identities. Drawing on many interviews and newsroom observation, this book addresses an overlooked but important aspect of international journalism by examining how journalists carry out their daily work at the transnational and regional transborder level.

"This book reveals the creative and sometimes unexpected ways in which journalistic activity crosses national borders. Individual journalists largely plot their own course, since transnational and transborder journalism offers few established guideposts. This type of journalism is in a unique position to address the public discourses on European and regional border-transcending identities. Drawing on many interviews and newsroom observation, this book addresses an overlooked but important aspect of international journalism by examining how journalists carry out their daily work at the transnational and regional transborder level"--
