Brazil-India renewable energy cooperation
connecting the continents /[electronic resource] :by Maria Candida Arrais de Miranda Mousinho. - Singapore :Springer Singapore :2021. - xxvii, 220 p. :ill., digital ;24 cm.
Chapter 1 Introduction -- Chapter 2 Global Energy: Notes on Crisis, Diversification of Matrices and Geopolitics -- Chapter 3 International Cooperation for Development -- Chapter 4 Brazil and India: Key Countries for Global Energy structures -- Chapter 5 Empirical Panorama: Renewable Energy Cooperation between Brazil and India -- Chapter 6 Propositions: Strategies to Enlarge the Path to Cooperation between Brazil and India -- Chapter 7 Final Considerations.
"The role played by India and Brazil in the field of renewable energy becomes critical if the world is to realise the SDGs 2030 and specially Goal 7 on clean energy. This book makes an important contribution in analyzing the policies of the two countries on clean energy and its role while meeting the development aspirations of the people." --Suresh Reddy, Indian Ambassador in Brazil. "Maria Cândida wrote an important book for the Brazil-India bilateral relations, with an innovative approach in the area of energy cooperation, taking into account the sustainable development goals of the United Nations, especially the one related to the access to affordable and reliable energy for all." --Tovar da Silva Nunes, former Ambassador of Brazil to India - 2015/2018 The book is a study of the cooperation of Brazil and India on renewable energy. It is based on a research project on the energy sector of both the countries. It discusses the agreements in the energy sector between the two countries and the renewable energy policies developed in four decades. A scientific and technological mapping, a brief study of competitiveness and a primary research were carried out in order to find out the weaknesses and the opportunities for cooperation in renewable energies. This Publication will undoubtedly provoke the reader to reflect on the importance of cooperation given the growing protectionism not only in terms of energy security, but also in terms of investments in new technologies considering energy transition scenario. For Brazil and India, intensifying the dialogue is more than a strategy of visibility and the search for greater space in worldwide geopolitics. Maria Cândida Arrais de Miranda Mousinho currently teaches at the Federal Institute of Bahia, at the Multi-Institutional and Multidisciplinary Doctorate Programme and at the Post-graduation Programme on Energy and Environment at the Federal University of Bahia, in Brazil. She has completed her Ph.D. in Energy and Environment, M.A. in Regional Analysis, and she is former fellow at the Managing Global Governance School and at the Training for International Diplomats in Germany. She has experience in the public and private sectors as well as in the third sector as a volunteer.
