摘要註:	有關社會參與對地方發展的影響，從1980年代以來受到各方學者的重視。許多學者認為民眾可以藉由社會參與，增加對地方事務的關心，增進地方的凝聚力，強化地方發展的內生力量。本研究從社會參與的角度著手，希望瞭解台灣民眾社會參與的決定因子為何？另外，更進一步探討「社會參與」與「地方發展」之間的關係為何？本研究實證資料採用行政院主計處社會發展趨勢調查訪問表中有關社會參與的資料庫，此調查分別於民國88年與92年進行。我們選取三種參與形式當成模型中的被解釋變數，包括：「捐款行為」、「志願性服務參與行為」、「社團參與行為」，另外選取人口統計變數當成解釋變數，探討三種參與行為之決定因子為何？另外我們利用中華民國統計資訊網-各縣市重要統計指標，選擇「平均每人每年可支配所得」代表地方經濟發展變數，探討「社會參與」和「地方發展」之間的關係為何？本研究發現在三種參與下，人口統計變數的確會影響個人社會參與行為。包括：年齡、性別、收入、婚姻狀況、工作狀況、教育程度、住宅類型、住宅所有權及信任程度。另外，我們也發現捐款行為與地方發展之相關性在兩個年度下都高達60％以上，但是志願性服務與社團參與行為與地方發展在兩個年度下都呈現出無相關性。本文的貢獻提供一個實證分析，作為進一步瞭解社會凝聚力如何促進地方發展的參考。 The effect of social participation toward local development has been valued by scholars everywhere. Many scholars believe that social participation increases the concerns of local affair, the local cohesiveness and strengthen the power of local development. The study looks into the social participations to see what the determinant in the people of Taiwan is. In the meantime, the relationship between social participation and local development is also researched. The study utilizes the databank of the survey of social development trends-social participations of Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan, R.O.C. The study examines the data in 1993 and in 2003. Three participation styles are selected as the dependent variables in the model: Donations, Volunteers and Associations; one independent variable demographic in order to find out their determinants. Then, the national statistics was used to check the per capita disposable income of each county and city in Taiwan and is used as independent variable to find out the relationship between social participation and local development. The study finds out that demographic variable does affect people’s participation behavior which includes: age, sex, income, marital status, work condition, education, house style, house ownership and trust. The study also discovers the relationship is 60% between social participation and local development in the year of 1993 and 2003. However, the volunteer social participation has nothing to do with local development in both year studied.
