    摘要註: 本研究探討近年來台灣皮革工業的發展與面臨的問題,並進行皮革工業產業經濟分析、近期變化與產業創新探討。本研究使用深度訪談法,訪談四位皮革產業界資深高階主管,並針對訪談結果加以歸納與分析,其結果如下:1. 政府因為環保問題對皮革產業態度並不鼓勵。2. 大部分受訪者支持設立工業園區,以降低環保成本。3. 皮革產業環境缺乏年輕人才、產業競爭激烈、供應鏈下游出走及環保為目前重要議題。4. 有些受訪者有進行改善皮革來源,進行風險分散;有些無分散;有些認為成本不是重點,重點是提高售價。5. 受訪者皆同意產品與品牌相結合。本研究並根據訪談結果提出皮革產業短、中、長期策略規劃如下:1. 短期策略:改善體質,爭取年輕人才,強化生產技術能力、產品設計能力,改善汙染,增加通路環境。2. 中期策略:發展策略聯盟、供應鏈整併、發展品牌、增加全球知名度。3. 長期策略:設立皮革工業園區,樹立全球競爭優勢與地位。本研究結果能協助讀者及後續研究者瞭解台灣目前皮革產業現況與未來發展可行性。 The main purpose of this study is to discuss the recent development of the leather industries in Taiwan and the problems they are facing. Furthermore, this study conducts an economic analysis on these leather industries, as well as investigating their recent innovation and possible trend of transformation in the near future. This study is done through interviews with four elite managers in the field of leather. Based on our thorough interviews, we conclude that:1. The attitude that the government has towards promoting leather business remains unsupportive primarily due to environmental issues caused by these industries.2. Most of the managers in the leather business support the idea of building industrial parks. The benefits of industrial parks include lowering the cost of regulating the pollution, thus solving the environmental issues.3. The major adversities faced by the leather firms nowadays include the lack of young talents in the leather business, fierce competition among companies in the same line of business, and the migration of shoe manufacturers (that involves leather) away from their native country.4. Finding a balance of risks is imperative in the leather business. Some of the managers we interviewed put efforts in their risk managements while others who don’t believe that the most important key is to maximize the prices of the finished products.5. It is highly essential for finished products to be associated with brands because the brands with high popularity will attract more customers, thus increasing the demand of the products they are associated with.Based on the result of our interviews, the strategy plans we suggest are as follows:1. Short term strategy: Improve quality, develop and recruit young talents, strengthen the production and the product design ability, reduce pollution, and increase points of supply.2. Middle term strategy: Form strategic business alliances, combine supply chains, and build brand reputation both domestically and internationally.3. Long term strategy: Set up industrial parks, and become a business powerhouse in the international competition.This research is focused on understanding the current predicament of the leather industries in Taiwan with the hope that it will contribute to the future development and study in this field of business.
