Summary:	市面上琳琅滿目的選輯都以流行類居多,爵士樂也一度是半世紀之前的流行樂,從搖擺的年代甚至更以前,爵士已經存在西方社會的生活之中。如今回首這些曾經創造爵士音樂輝煌時期的巨人,雖然他們大多作古,但留下的珍貴結晶卻勢必代代相傳,永不凋零。在本輯「The No.1 Jazz Album」出現的都是爵士漫長歲月中名流青史的藝人,從路易．阿姆斯壯、迪吉．葛拉斯彼以降到閃亮的黑珍珠艾拉．費茲潔羅、比莉．哈樂黛、莎拉．沃恩、黛娜．華盛頓、妮娜．席夢、雪莉．荷恩等歌手;還有Oscar Peterson、Jimmy Smith、Cannonball Adderley、Joe Henderson、查理．帕克、白人的希望Chet Baker;吉他手威斯．蒙哥馬利及追隨者喬治．班森,當然別忘了將巴西爵士帶入並發揚光大的史坦．蓋茲、喬賓、吉巴托夫婦;連「靈魂樂教父」詹姆斯．布朗也名列其中,無一不以最具知名的代表作入選。兩張CD,三十八首歌,超過一-百四十分鐘的爵士最精華都在這張「The No.1 Jazz Album」之中。
