A thorough analysis of parish documents, namely, board meeting minutes, textbook adoption procedures and parish budgets, as well as interviews of school law attorneys, parish board members, the superintendent and curriculum director provided the answer. The evidence from the documents and interviews did not support the idea that the <italic>Freiler</italic> case chilled the right of the board to select curriculum.
