Summary:	有鑒於臺灣生育率低靡之現象，我們欲探討影響臺灣育齡女性生育行為之原因。由過去文獻顯示女性節育權力的擴張，也就是人工流產合法化及避孕藥的使用，是促使女性晚婚、投資教育及職場的因素之一。2000年12月RU486在臺灣合法上市，女性除了傳統的人工流產選擇外又增添了一項成本較低的口服墮胎藥選擇。從食品藥物管理局歷年使用RU486的調劑統計量中顯示，臺灣地區目前使用的情形十分可觀。本文利用全民健保資料庫、國民健康訪問調查及婦女、家庭與生育保健調查資料，藉以探討RU486合法上市後對臺灣育齡女性生育決策的影響並著重在人工流產行為上。從國民健康局與健保資療庫合併資料的實證結果發現，RU486合法上市後24-35歲未婚女性族群會增加人工流產手術使用機率，但對於已婚女性而言則是降低人工流產手術使用機率。另外婦女、家庭、生育保健調查資料的實證結果發現，RU486合法上市後已婚女性人工流產發生率下降，尤其對25歲以上的已婚女性而言效果較為顯著。 As shown in the literature, the extension of women's right increase women's investment in education, probability of working, and age of marriage. These factors indirectly decrease fertility rate. In Taiwan, Mifepristone(RU486) was legalized on December 2000. Women not only can use surgical abortion as well as take RU486 as tools of abortion. According to Food and Drug Administration in Taiwan, around 16 thousand tabs of RU486 were used in 2009. In this paper, we use National Health Insurance Research Database (NHIRD), National Health Interview Survey(NHIS)(2001) and Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice of Contraception Survey(KAPCS) to examine the impact of RU486 legalization on women's fertility behavior. Using the merged file of NHIRD and NHIS, we find that the probability of unmarried women opting for surgical abortion increased after legalization of RU486, especially for women aged 25-34. But for married women, the result is contrary. Using KAPCS, we also find that the probability of abortion for married women decreased after RU486 legalization, especially for those aged 25 and above.
