    摘要註: 本研究旨在探討各種改質碳管對自由基吸收能力的差別,藉由對碳管做球磨、BPO改質、酸處理、微波處理等四種表面改質法及不同參數之silane接枝改質法,製造出多種不同性質之奈米碳管,以供比較各種改質碳管吸收自由基能力的差別,並對碳管本身做TGA、Raman光譜、XPS、SEM及EDS之鑑定,以便探討各種改質碳管之自由基吸收能力有所不同的原因。本實驗第二部份,利用EPR之spin-trap法和UV-Vis之比色法來鑑定各種改質碳管吸收自由基之能力,由此兩項實驗結果交叉比對結果,證明碳管具有強力的自由基吸收能力,再搭配碳管本身性質之鑑定結果可知,碳管清除自由基之能力與碳管上缺陷濃度成正比;碳管上接枝物所造成之立體障礙,亦會使碳管吸收自由基之能力明顯下降。由自由基測試結果亦可知,碳管對多種自由基皆有優異之吸收效果,極具做為抗老化、抗氧化劑應用之潛力。最後,本實驗將不同silane接枝量之改質碳管,分別以0.5/1/2 phr 添加量混入乙烯基酯樹脂中,利用DSC以動態升溫及恆溫加熱法兩種模式進行交聯反應,並全程觀察各配方樹脂交聯反應之熱流變化。由DSC之測試結果可知,樹脂中未改質或改質碳管的加入皆會使反應起始時間受到延遲、出現induction period;使交聯反應所需溫度上升,反應條件變得嚴苛。各配方之交聯反應轉換率與純樹脂相比,2 phr 球磨碳管(bmCNT)之樹脂配方交聯反應轉換率大幅下降了40%;含2 phr r20-CNT-VTMS-MATMS之樹脂配方中,因改質碳管有立體障礙,對交聯反應之阻礙效果較低,交聯反應轉換率下降20%。另外,在改變BPO添加量配方之交聯反應實驗中可知,樹脂中BPO含量越多,對碳管加入所造成反應延緩現象之影響越小;當BPO含量降低至0.5 phr時,碳管的加入將嚴重地延緩交聯反應之速率。綜合上述試驗結果確知奈米碳管具有極佳的自由基吸收能力,極具開發應用之潛力。 Radical scavenging abilities of various modified carbon nanotubes (CNTs) including ball-milled CNT (bmCNT), benzoyl peroxide-treated CNT (bpoCNT), acid treated CNT (CNT-COOH), microwave treated CNT (mwCNT), and silane-grafted CNT (CNT-VTMS-MATMS) were investigated in this study. Thermogravimetric analyzer, Raman spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy dispersive spectrometer were used to characterize these modified CNT. Electron spin resonance (ESR) and ultraviolet/visible spectrophotometer (UV/Vis) were used to measure the radical scavenging abilities of the various modified CNT. ESR, UV/Vis, and Raman data revealed that the radical scavenging abilities increased with increasing extents of damaged structure but decreased with increasing extents of the silane grafting. The silane grafting that caused a decrease of radical scanvenging ability can be attributed to steric hindrance of the silane grafts on surface of CNT. The findings in this study that the modified CNTs were effective free radical scavengers suggested that these CNTs have potential applications as antioxidants. For exploring the application of CNT as an antioxidant, the effects of CNT on free-radical crosslinking reactions of vinyl ester resin were investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). DSC was heated at a heating rate of 10 oC/min or heated isothermally at 120 oC to real time observe the effects of the various modified CNT on the exothermic peaks that characterized the crosslinking reactions. DSC data found that all modified CNT hindered the crosslinking reactions to various extents depending on the modification methods for CNT. The modified CNT that exhibited a higher free radical scavenging ability exhibited a higher extent of hindrance on the crosslinking reactions.
