The Sturdy-Lange Company produced art glass for California homes designed by Greene and Greene. Their work can only be documented between 1906-1910. The Greenes' art glass drastically improved when they began to work with Sturdy-Lange. Today, those objects are celebrated as some the Greenes' most innovative designs. Little has been written about the Sturdy-Lange Company. Their craftsman deserves proper recognition for his mastery of art glass. This thesis examines the figures at Sturdy-Lange, the way the glass design and construction evolved, and asks further questions to uncover the story of the art glass company.
