Chapter 1_Introduction and classification of natural polyphenols -- Chapter 2_Polyphenol intakes and risk of cancer: An epidemiological scenario -- Chapter 3_Polyphenols-based prevention and therapeutics in different cancers -- Chapter 4_Effect of polyphenols on signaling pathways -- Chapter 5_Role of polyphenols in modulating gene expression in different cancers -- Chapter 6_Effect of polyphenols on Inflammation and immune response in cancer -- Chapter 7_Epigenetic basis of polyphenols in cancer prevention and therapy -- Chapter 8_Polyphenols and cancer stem cells (CSCs) -- Chapter 9_Polyphenols as modulator of oxidative stress in cancer disease -- Chapter 10_Development of novel therapeutics for enhanced polyphenol delivery -- Chapter 11_Toxicological concern of different bioactive polyphenols as anticancer agents.
This book reviews the applications of polyphenols in cancer treatment. The initial chapter of the book classifies different polyphenols and discusses their biological and chemical properties. The subsequent chapters then explore the diverse role of polyphenols in modulating signal transduction pathways in cancer including, cellular proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, inflammation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. This book highlights the usefulness of polyphenol enriched seafood in modulating the anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory cytokine IFN-r. The book also presents nanoformulation of polyphenol as a promising strategy for their enhanced bioavailability and targeted delivery. Lastly, the book examines the toxicity and safety evaluations of polyphenols as anticancer agents.
