The book introduces the concept of encounter CONNECT-ED from the practice of working with the elderly to impart media skills and presents empirical data on the social participation and quality of life of the participants. The research results show the potential of the Internet for older people and open up perspectives for gender- and age-sensitive advanced training opportunities. This book is a translation of the original German 1st edition Wege aus sozialer Isolation für ältere Menschen im Kontext Neuer Medien by Britta Thege, published by Springer Fachmedien Wiesbaden GmbH, part of Springer Nature in 2021.
