The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine the influence entrepreneurship education has on developing the 21st century skills of a select group of 7th and 8th grade students at Pembroke Pines Charter Middle School, West Campus (PPCMS West). The study focused on understanding how entrepreneurship education can be used to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes which students will be able to apply to all aspects of their lives. The research questions used to reveal the influence of this pedagogical approach perceived by school administrators, teachers and parents were: RQ1. How does entrepreneurship education in a Flipped classroom allow students to use their creative and innovative thinking to identify and address future challenges and opportunities? RQ2. What type of learning outcomes can be derived from the experiential and constructivist learning experiences offered through entrepreneurship education? RQ3. How can students develop critical skills needed for future success by activating their entrepreneurial mindset and creating, launching and operating their small business? The open-ended questionnaire was designed based on those research questions and the data was analyzed using the NVivo software. Conclusions were that creative and innovative thinking derived from entrepreneurship education better prepare students in identifying and addressing future challenges and opportunities; positive learning outcomes can be derived from the experiential and constructivist learning experiences offered through entrepreneurship education; and students can develop critical skills needed for future success by activating their entrepreneurial mindset and creating, launching and operating their small business. Consideration of these findings could help school leaders make a more positive impact on learning outcomes and further develop the 21st century skills that students will need to prosper in future endeavors.
