The metaverse is undergoing rapid and transformative changes, yet it has thus far lacked a comprehensive scholarly examination from a global and comparative standpoint. The publication addresses existing gaps by introducing fresh perspectives and frameworks across various domains within the metaverse, including law, economics, and finance. Drawing upon the expertise of an international cohort of scholars and practitioners, this volume illuminates emerging interdisciplinary insights with global relevance, facilitating a comparative analysis of diverse aspects of the metaverse. Timely and essential, this book contributes significantly to the metaverse literature, addressing urgent issues in this evolving landscape. Hung-Yi Chen is Managing Director of Meta Intelligence, a company that conducts research and provides solutions on metaverse, financial technology, and cutting-edge innovations. He was appointed as Founding Director of Metaverse Campus at Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) Hung-Yi was Academic Director of the Master of Finance, MBA, and Global Executive Education Programs at ZIBS. He is an Arbitrator of Thai Arbitration Institute and holds a Doctor of Laws from Nagoya University. Prior to that, he served as a Researcher and Asia-Pacific Region Manager at Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF), the University of Cambridge where he led and co-authored six FinTech industry reports covering market activity globally, as well as more specifically within regulation in the Asia-Pacific region. Pawee Jenweeranon is a lecturer in law of the Faculty of Law, Thammasat University and a research affiliate of the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Pawee is a former regulatory specialist for digital economy at the World Bank Group. His research focuses on FinTech, digital assets, banking, and financial laws and regulations. Nafis Alam is a Professor of Finance and Head of the School of Business at Monash University, Malaysia. His research focuses on FinTech, banking regulation, corporate finance, and Islamic banking and finance. He is a research affiliate of the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, UK, and contributes regularly to a global industry report on FinTech and financial regulation. Nafis studied Banking and Finance at Monash University, Australia.
