Issues related to perinatal pathology are compared with those in children and adults. Special attention is paid to viral, mycoplasma and chlamydia infections. Chlamydia and Mycoplasma lesions are practically unknown to pathologists dealing with human specimens. Several typical and rare examples from the authors' practice are presented as well.
