This thesis will explore and imagine the changes in people's living places in future urban development. In the future, as the urbanization process accelerates, many people will live in densely populated areas, often with small spaces, which brings a series of problems that need attention. This thesis mainly focuses on isolation and functional problems.According to a survey by the Pew Research Center: One in ten Americans said that they feel lonely or isolated from the people around them all or most of the time. And one in five Americans who said they don't know any neighbors said that they feel lonely or isolated all or most of the time. Although people now live closer together than before, they are gradually isolated from each other, which will bring serious social problems in the futureDue to the development of technology and the trend of population aging, people's functional requirements for living space are becoming more and more complex. As the population entering the city gradually increases, and housing space will inevitably shrink in the future. We need more useful community public spaces and use these spaces to assume some of the functions of living space. At the same time, as a place where residents intersect in the community, it can help connect people who are becoming increasingly isolated. This thesis proposes reducing isolation and improving the well-being of residents by building higher-quality community spaces. This thesis proposal is prepared to adopt a variety of design strategies: modular units, flexible design, and sustainable designThe maturity of modern industrialization can produce a large number of modular components. On this basis, whether it is to adapt to aging or mobile offices, it can be flexibly adjusted accordingly. The smart system can detect climate change and resident behavior at any time and provide considerate services, such as controlling indoor lighting and monitoring the health of the elderly. The effective use of the natural environment can reduce energy consumption while consolidating residents' environmental awareness and improving the environment for community communication. All of the above strategies can complement each other to ensure a comprehensive design.
